Hi,

I have a 9200 remote (that is used for tv2) that I want to use on my 5100 PVR. I have tried to programme it and reconfigure the address of the remote but in the system info, it does not change the address.

Is it possible to use this remote with the 5100?

thanks,
Steve

The 9200 Remote #2 is UHF Pro, the 5100 is UHF, they are not compatible, without turning the Blue Tag at the bottom of the Remote to the BLACK side, which will be marked as UHF.

Running 3 tv's with 2 remotes?

Hello, i'm new to the forum and looking for some advice on setting up my tv's. Right now, I have a lcd tv in my basement hooked up to my bell receiver (not sure the model, it's the dual recorder, HD receiver, the silver one) and then a cable running upstairs to my normal tube tv in my bedroom. Boyfriend and I were out shopping and saw a good deal for a plasma, so we bought it for our upstairs living room. Now we want to connect the plasma with the receiver. So we ordered a 3-RCA video component splitter and 2 audio component splitter so that we can have hd quality tv on the plasma tv upstairs. Now we are wondering how we can make it so that we can use the UHF remote upstairs on the 2 tv's upstairs (bedroom and living room) and the other remote on the tv downstairs. Is this possible? We can't get another receiver because we are maxed out with 6 on our account. If anyone has any ideas/suggestions, that would be great! Thank you!

Your post doesn't make this clear, but I assume what you're planning to do is run two HD TVs (downstairs HD TV & new living room HD plasma) off of the "component out" jacks for tuner 1 of your HD-PVR (which is a 9200, by the way). I also assume you already know you'll have to run component video/audio cables from the basement to the living room to get HD on your new plasma.

In terms of a UHF remote controlling both tuner 2 (current situation) and tuner 1 (the "HD" tuner in a 9200), I think you can do this by changing the remote address so that it is the same for tuner 1 and tuner 2. However, I think this will also result in the channel on all three TVs (basement, bedroom TV, living room TV) changing at the same time :eek:. Wouldn't work in MY house, but to each their own.

A better solution is to leave UHF remote 2 alone and "convert" remote 1 to UHF - see this thread:

You can then use remote 1 for your basement and living room TVs and remote 2 for your bedroom TV.

IR remote anyone having issues?

I dont think its my mx-810 IR learning remote, since most other devices work as should. But the last few weeks I noticed my IR learning remote has become alot weaker when opperating my 9242! I have to be right up to it all of a sudden to make it work. I even taught the code from the bell remote to each on my mx-810. Still its having trouble operating the 9242. Any ir universal remote users noticing difficulty operating it? Maybe a firmware update did something?

OR is my mx-810 IR getting weaker? It still seems to operate all my other devices fine.

Problems with remote 2

I have a 9242... Very bad move to buy that unit! Remote number 1 always had problem on and off. Yesterday I coudn't find remote number 1 so I I tried to used remote 2 (both tuners are hooked on the same TV, tuner 1 at input 5 and tuner 2 at input 2). Remote woudn't open either TV or Bell TV receiver.

Played with the machine to finally open it and get to system info. Try to change the remote adress, and after many trials it worked! Remote than started to work. Tonight I went back in my room to watcha film, and guess what? Remote 2 is not working again.

Batterie have been changed (last night)
I did a hard reboot (unplugged everything)
I even unplug the UHF antenna and plugged it back

Any idea on what to do next?

Using your front control panel on your receiver:

Menu -> System Setup -> Installation -> System Info
OR
There may already be a button on the front of the receiver labelled "SysInfo"

Once you have the system info on the screen you should see the "Remote Address" at the bottom. Press "REC" on your remote and the receiver should now pair up with the remote address from the remote.

The menu paths and titles may change from one receiver model to the next, but you're just looking at getting into the "SYS INFO" screen.

If you are using the Remote #2, it should not matter what kind of lights you use, the Remote is working via UHF Pro.

I'm not sure if I understand what you did, or are trying to do...
Did you change remote 2, to be remote 1?
I'm simply trying to use my REMOTE2.
No I didn't change my REMOTE2 in a REMOTE1

How did you get into the diagnostics screen?
By switching to TV1

Bell 9200 UHF remote not working

Hi everyone,

My bell 9200 UHF remote recently stopped working. It still works to turn on/off the TV, but the UHF functions for the receiver are not working... now I have no idea whatsoever what I can try out. I have checked the remote address but don't really know what I am looking for or what to do... I apologize for being so vague, but again, I am clueless.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.
