It's pretty clear the 500,000 numbers is a crock. I guess what surprises me is that MarketNews would accept that number at face value without any critical thinking.

I guess as long as Bell is advertising with them, they'll accept any numbers!

My CO is St. Clair and Brimley (TOROON35DS0) and already has full-speed Fibe 25 internet up and running. (Note the red pin on the map is in the wrong spot, since the address is actually St. Clair.) They claim that Fibe TV will be available in the region in 2011.

For those of you with a scheduled 2012 (or later) Fibe TV launch, is Fibe 25/7 internet available in your area?

@Dr.Dave Great Job!

Here's some updates:

Toronto FEB 2011
Toroon06 (Eglington) + Toroon03 (Donlands) + Toroon01 (Adelaide) + Toroon07 (Ridelle)
+ Toroon27 (Simcoe) + Toroon46 (Don Mills) = Rdy > 80%
Toroon47 (Finch)+ Toroon48 (Ernest) + Toroon44 (Bellevue)= Rdy > 50%

Quebec FEB 2011
MTRLPQ19 (CDN) + MTRLPQ29 (St-Michel)= Rdy > 80%
MTRLPQ30 (MTL-N) + MTRLPQ23 (Dudemaine) = Rdy > 20%

Does anyone know how the readiness of the CO's relates to the availability of the service? I live not more than 200m from the Dufferin CO and both the web page and calls to Bell result in "Service not available in your area".

I'm thinking of buying a spool of fibre myself and just walking it over from my place to the CO....

@xred, there may be issues with specific addresses. Even though you are close to a C.O. or node, the wiring may run in a convoluted route. Another possibility is that the copper wire to your location may be very old and needs to be replaced.

If you're really anxious to get FIbe TV, I would suggest calling in again and trying to find out why your address doesn't qualify. That may take some persistence since I don't know how much info the front line staff have. THere could also be an error in the database.

Dream of FIBE in Toronto Condo

500,000 is not a realistic number, I live in Downtown Toronto near college Subway and only 2 or 3 Buildings (As per Map) have Fibe TV. Until unless it is avaliable in Condos & Apartments, numbers doesn't matter. Customer in Condos and Apartments want choice not monoply.
