Any comments/observations about the announcement that BBC iPlayer will soon be available in the USA on iPad? I watch it via a VPN at the moment, but BBC Worldwide is looking at this as a big moneymaker. Don't know what the price-point will be, but I think a Canadian rollout is inevitable, given the expat/anglophile population up here.

The BBC's popular iPlayer has launched in 11 countries

According to a Guardian report, the service will be available through an iPad app to 11 countries in western Europe (Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, the Republic of Ireland, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland). Later in the year the service will also be launched in the US, Canada and Australia as part of a one-year pilot scheme.
