James Cameron's "Avatar" became the highest grossing film ever in its theatrical run after opening last December. The movie made has earned over $2.7 billion at the box office beating Cameron's previous record set by "Titanic."
Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment reported today that "Avatar" has now become the best selling Blu-ray title of all time.
Fox says "Avatar" sold 2.7 million units in North America in just four days, topping the previous record of 2.5 million units held by Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight.”
The studio says retail sales of Blu-ray and DVD Discs have exceeded 6.7 million units since the movie made it to stores last Thursday as is on pace to be the best selling movie title in recent history.
