Have you tried a USB stick. My HW 150 records to my Seagate 1TB HDD as well as a USB stick at 1080i.

No. I have this psychological impediment to using them, based on their finite number of allowable writes. I'm sure the cost/benefit of getting over it would be low.

Well, when I plug it into Windows I get:
USBSTOR\DISK&VEN_WDC_WD16&PROD_00BEVE-00UYT0&REV_\6&AADE2E2&0&__&0
I fished it out of an old laptop that a baby kicked coffee all over. I'm not convinced that it didn't work yet. But I haven't had any mysterious problems since I swapped it out

@Ultra, I was talking about external USB hard drives. USB flash drives are definitely not suitable for PVR use at this time though some very high end units with may be ok based on the specs I've seen.

USB sticks have come a long way. I have no issues with the Datatraveler USB 3.0 devices. I'm sure there are others.

I should add that my USB 2.0 sticks are fine for 480i recordings, but for 720p or 1080i the USB 3.0 stick is the way to go.
