AMD this week introduced the ATI Radeon HD 5670 graphics card, the first sub U.S. $100 graphics card in its 5000 series.
Features of the new graphics cards include support for Microsoft DirectX 11, open CL as well as ATI's Eyefinity technology, which lets you stretch your display over multiple monitors.
AMD says despite the low price tag, the card still clocks in with 620 GigaFLOPS of computing power, 775MHz clock speed and 512MB of GDDR5 memory. Power consumption is said to max out at just 61 watts. A 1GB version will also be available although the price was not announced.
The new entry level card has the same fundamental architecture of the more expensive 5700 and 5800 series of graphics cards but is scaled back in terms of performance.
