Apple has issued an update to iTunes 8.

The 58.5MB download addresses a flaw in iTunes TV episode downloads which would the HD versions of shows with the additional standard-definition copy meant for transfer to iPhones and iPods.

iTunes 8.0.1 improves stability and performance and provides a number of important bug fixes, including:

• Seamlessly plays the current song when creating a new Genius playlist.
• Improves syncing spoken menus to iPod nano.
• Addresses an issue of deleting HD TV episodes when downloading.
• Improves checking for updates from the App Store
• Improves accessibility with Windows.
• Addresses problems syncing Genius results to iPod.
• Addresses a blue screen error on Windows Vista when connecting iPod to your computer.

If it gets rid of the intermittent blue screen in Vista, it's worth downloading. I made the mistake of plugging in my iPod touch while working on a long email I was working on and lost it.

Apple is getting as bug prone as Microsoft.
