Apple dramatically cuts forecast as interest in CDMA fades

Seems the bubble for a CDMA iPhone has burst, as carriers continue to upgrade to more capable technologies and consumers vote with their pocketbooks.

Pegatron originally expected to ship 10 million CDMA iPhone 4s in 2011, but sources from upstream component makers pointed out that Apple's orders already saw a significant reduction and the volume is estimated to drop to only five million units.

It has nothing to do with the CDMA bubble bursting, they're just selling fewer Verizon iPhones than they expected.

It's not like the Thunderbolt is eating all their CDMA iPhone sales. Other CDMA phones are selling just fine. I think they just overestimated consumer demand for the Verizon iPhone.
