I can't get the DVD player to respond like it should. For example when i switch from "watch a movie" to "watch TV" the dvd player wont turn off.

Can't someone let me know what kind of speed settings they are using in the remote adjustments. Thanks alot. I've been trying for like 20 mins now and it's driving me nuts.

Have you tried turning off the LG7832 via device direct to see if the remote actually controls this function properly. If you can't doing this, it likely isn't a timing issue.
I would suggest re-updating the 659. I had to re-update my 688 and then everything was fine and I didn't have to worry about changing the instruction delay so I wouldn't think you would have to for a 659.
