Cyberduck seems to be one of the favourites in the Mac world. If you're on a PC, I think I've tried FileZilla before.
I'm guessing that you've jailbroke the iPhone (?). I've always assumed that that was the only way to SSH into the file system.

If he was on a PC I would highly recommend Putty (it's free and I use it every day / all day).
That being said, unless I'm misreading I think he wants to SSH from his iPhone/iPad to another device.
