I have been meaning to get a pair of monitors for my home PC. Dell has a good price for 23" IPS monitors on right now.

Does anyone have an opinion on whether it is worth spending more to get the IPS monitors? They seem to have a better viewing angle and colour reproduction but I have heard that they can cause more eye strain.

Does anyone have any experience with that?

I have dual Dell 24" IPS at work and triple Dell 22" IPS at home. Eyestrain? I look at these monitors for 7+ hours a day and have no problems.

Until a new (affordable) technology comes along for displays I'll never buy a non-IPS monitor. The image quality and viewing angles are worth the extra price to me.

Value is a relative thing. My next monitor will be IPS for the same reasons as adiabatic.

I purchased a U2410 Dell brand new, unopened box, on Craig's List from a University Student for $350 CDN, last Saturday. Probably the best buy I ever made considering a lousy TN Panel could cost about the same.
