I heard it was great for the price , plus you can upgrade the speakers later on compared to the other HTIB where the speakers are just made for that receiver and vise versa. Did you look at the 160 ?? it's the newer model and I see it has a bigger sub and a bit more power for an extra $50 I think .
I would not generally recommend any HTIB setup, but I have to admit that the Yamaha Cinemastation is a great sounding unit in comparision to say any Sony HTIB which in my opinion are absolute junk.
It also incorporates the YPAO self calibrating setup.
Just bear in mind that there are only 2 extra available external source inputs (composite video and analog audio) along with 1 toslink digital audio input.
BTW, $299 is way below cost! I think the last poster may have confused the Cinemastation with the entry level Yamaha YHT-150 (now discontinued) which includes a 350 series receiver, satellite speaker package, but NO DVD player.
