I have been using Avast WHS edition for the last 3 years and it has worked as advertised. As my licence is up for renewal I am wondering if there are better or more recommended options out there.

I did a quick Google search but there is not much out there that isn’t a few years old. I did not find anything recent in this forum either. There were a remarkable number of folks espousing the concept of no AV on WHS as well….not really looking to debate this concept as I will either replace Avast with something newer or renew the licence.

Appreciate any inputs.

IIRC, Security Essentials does not work on WHS.

I use ESET NOD32 on my WHS (I have the three pack license for ESET Smart Security and use the suite on my desktop and laptop). The suite isn't compatible with WHS and is overkill, NOD32 is compatible and has a very small footprint.

I'm a big fan of Avira and I can't confirm, but I do believe it can be installed on WHS.
