Acer America today announced the Iconia Tab A200, a new 10.1-inch tablet computer, will be available in the United States on January 15th.

When it's released, the Iconia Tab A200, will be operating on the Android Honeycomb 3.2 operating system, however, Acer promises a free upgrade to Android 4.0 (aka Ice Cream Sandwich) will will be available in mid-February.

The Acer tablet comes in a slim, titanium gray-colored casing that weighs about 1.5 pounds. Features of the new tablet include a a 10.1-inch 1280 x 800 pixel multi-touch screen, dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 prcoessor, six-axis motion sensing gyroscope, 2 megapixel front-facing camera, full sized USB 2.0 port and a battery rated for up to eight hours of runtime.

The Tab A200 will come in 8GB and 16GB capacity which will sell for $330 and $350 USD respectively. No word yet on Canadian availability or pricing.
