A new update on Source Cable in Hamilton.

I went to their site today and saw that, as of June 1, 2023, Source Cable TV service will end permanently. I'm sure that means their older Digital Cable service.

My guess is that this is the month when all remaining Source residential clients are being migrated to Ignite.

I sent an email to Source seeking further clarification on other matters with the company. Should they reply, I'll let you guys know what they said.

That tracks with what Rogers is doing overall for their existing services. I believe by end of year all customers will be transitioned to the Ignite service. Not sure what percentage of Rogers customers are on Ignite vs legacy digital.
Still most are on Legacy. It won't be easy for Rogers in Toronto
As of June 1, 2023 Souce Cable in Hamilton will migrate and be part of Rogers Cable Hamilton Mountain territory and will be introduced to Rogers IGNITE Digital IPTV

Rogers Ignite has been available to Source Cable customers since the fall of 2018. It's not new and probably the majority of customers are already transitioned to Rogers. They are simply terminating the legacy service for the holdouts that haven't switched. Also even with Ignite the line-ups between the former Mountain Cable and Source Cable systems are not the same. As mentioned above, you shouldn't be posting theories, assumptions or conjecture as if it's a fact.
Now this is conjecture on my part...

I would imagine Compton Cable in Port Perry and Kinkardine Cable will likely also be wind down at some point since these two areas have also been transitioning customers to Rogers over the past few years.
Fun fact, Source Cable was actually handling much of the customer service and technical support for Kinkardine Cable and Compton Cable since about 2015/2016
With some slight edits for things like paragraphing and elimination of personal/redundant information, this is the message I received from a Source representative.

'Good morning.

Thank you for reaching out to us in regards to the migration to Rogers. The rumours are true we are migrating everyone to Rogers as Source will be closing.

We will be discontinuing the Digital services as of June 1st but would like to get all services moved over at the same time to save everyone the hassle of booking another install.

Thank you.

And in a follow-up message, she told me that she doesn't yet know the exact date of the full shutdown/closure of Source Cable.

I wonder if Rogers will ever tell Zap2it to fix the programming listings for former Source Cable customers. Despite what Zap2It says, the Ignite line-up is not the same as the existing Rogers Hamilton (Former Mountain Cable) line-up. My parents still have Rogers and I had Rogers Ignite for approx. a year. The 0-99 range largely mirrors what Source Cables 700-799 range was (with a few exceptions).
Just a quick update; Kinkardine Cable and Compton Cable will also cease legacy services as of June 1st 2023.
As of June 1, 2023 Source Cable in Hamilton, Kincardine Cable in Kincardine and Compton Cable in Uxbridge will be part of the Rogers Cable family.
TV64Niagara; they already are part of Rogers. In the case of Kinkardine Cable and Compton they have been for over 10 years and Source Cable for nearly 9 years. The vast majority of customers have already been migrated to Rogers Ignite well in advance of June 1st. They are essentially just discontinuing the legacy digital cable and internet packages and for those that haven't migrated, their service will be terminated as of June 1st.
