Hi...I looked for this but couldn't find it anywhere...will the dual tuner pvr work if you only hook up one of the cables from the satellite? I know it's a dual tuner and you probably won't be able to recored more than one program at once but I don't want to start drilling holes all over my house to hook up the extra television. thanks for any info

I just had my 9242 installed 2 weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised to see that a second cable did not have to be run. I asked the tech and he said its a change that has happened in the last 3 months. The single source comes in, goes through a splitter and into the 9242. I will take photos later and post if you are interested.

You just need a DPP Twin LNBF and a DPP Seperator, that is what KeithInCb has installed.

You swap out the existing LNBF's with the new one and add the seperator, you get full functionality of the Dual Tuner Receiver.

Keith...yeah if you could post it it would be great thanks.

Pinza I am not that technical so unfortunately I have no idea what your
talking about. I am assuming it is some kind of splitter.

You might want to review the sticky installation threads. Only one cable is required for both tuners. To do so, replace the current LNBs with a DPP LNB and use a DPP splitter at the 9242. They can be purchased cheaply on eBay. The 9242 can work with just one input but it won't work well. These questions have been asked and answered a number of times already.
