I am a major rookie so please forgive my ignorance. Did not realize that this receiver requires 2 input cables. My questions are:
1) what happens if you only use one input cable, do most functions still work? I really want pvr, not too worried about hd component.
2)can I use my one input cable and use a dish pro plus lnb and split the signal in?

1. You will have to change the default settings in the Menu, as the Timers by default will fire on Tuner 2. You will also only be able to Record the show you are watching, not record 1 while watching another live show.

2. Yes a DPP LNBF and seperator would be your answer.
