It will always show the timer, but 50% of the time, the timer will go away and the channel will not switch.

I on;y have one cable input into the PVR right now, and I can watch TV. I really doubt that would affect the auto tuning...

Any tips?

It could. If the Auto tune is set for Tuner #2.

But it says (1) with the timer...
(2) is when I try to PVR something for a later date. Which going to the second tuner.

Ahhh who knows, maybe it is still trying to go to a second tuner...
