I only wish they were that fast with other bugs that affect all customers. 16 months (not days) is closer to the norm with many of those. 9200s with the stutter issue showed up about 16 months ago and that is not 100% fixed... Want more? Jump to live bug... frequent failure to record All and New events... bad guide data... duplicate events as well as missing events in the timer and daily schedule list causing recording failures... failure to restore duplicate events when the scheduled duplicate is deleted... Some of these have been going on well over a year. There are probably others I've forgotten about but those are the major issues. Name based recording hasn't worked properly since it was introduced and the bad/missing guide data issue started before that, well over two years ago. EV's only answer is to buy a new PVR. I can tell you that the 9242 is not much better. It just has new bugs....16 days to fix the OTA bug is really unacceptable.
You'd think that would have been an easy fix... the five- to eight-second delay with each skip or restore is maddening and really adds up, even with the moderate number of timers I have. Sheesh...still very slow when skipping or restoring shows in schedule.
I have V221 on my 9200 and I checked the timing for setting skip and restore and it is about 1/2 second at most. I have over 60 items on my record list. You'd think that would have been an easy fix... the five- to eight-second delay with each skip or restore is maddening and really adds up, even with the moderate number of timers I have. Sheesh...
Personally, I'm pretty happy with the turn around. I think this is a new record. As not being able to record OTA didn't really bother me that much as I don't get more than 1 station OTA For a select few, this may have been a "serious flaw" but I would hazzard a guess that nto that many people were truely affected as sat reception is the primary use of the unit, not OTA PVRing. At least live OTA still workedMy only comment would be that 16 days to fix the OTA bug is really unacceptable. This was a serious flaw and the new software should either have been backed out immediatley or a fix within 72 hours.
