Hi --

I have an 8300HD PVR and when the machine fills up it does not delete the oldest shows to make room, even though I have it configured to do so.

In fact, what happens is it gets about 97% full and then it begins to record new shows and then stops before the show it done. Like, I'll get 17 minutes of show 1, and then 8 minutes of show 2 -- even though there's an hour or so of space left.

Why isn't it dropping the oldest recordings like it is supposed to?

Perhaps a cold reboot will get it working properly again. After the reboot, schedule an HD programme right away and see if it deletes an old programme, that's labelled appropriately for deletion.

Check the programmes on your recorded list to ensure that they are appropriately set for deletion as necessary.
