If you’re looking for more ways to watch NFL football, European soccer and more, there's now a new way to do it online.
This summer the release of the new streaming sports service, DAZN, (pronounced DAZONE), was announced in Canada. It marks a turning point in terms of streaming sports content coming up against cable TV and offers sports fans more choice. Here are 8 things to know about it:
1) It’s a Live Sports Streaming Service That’s a Bit Different
DAZN operates with a twist compared to other sports streaming services in North America. So far, those already offered by major professional leagues have their games blocked out on streaming services in areas where a TV broadcaster has already secured the rights to the games.
DAZN, however, has promised no blackouts will occur on its service being offered throughout Canada. It’s a new step into the dense forest of TV vs Streaming.
2) It’s All About the NFL
DAZN’s service offers subscribers the opportunity to view every NFL game this season, with live and on demand coverage.
This includes all Sunday games previously available on NFL Sunday Ticket, NFL Game Pass, as well as coverage of NFL RedZone.
As a viewer, you can watch replays at your leisure and some condensed games.

3) It’s Also Streaming Other Sports
At the moment DAZN has promised Canadian viewers "access to other sports from top leagues and competitions around the world.”
Will it include NHL hockey? No one knows yet. At present, in addition to NFL football you can also watch top European soccer including LaLiga Santander, Ligue 1 and Serie A, plus KHL Hockey, Moto GP, ATP 250 Tennis, PDC Darts and Pro14 Rugby Union.
4) It Costs a Bit More Than Netflix
Subscribing to DAZN costs $20 a month. You can also choose to pay an introductory annual price of $150, and get the first 30 days free.

5) You Can Stream It on Any Device
From smart TVs to smartphones and tablets, you can watch DAZN on just about any device, anywhere you wish.
Good to know: you can have up to two devices connected on one account at any given time.
6) It’s New but Already International
DAZN launched last August and is also operating in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Japan. Coming to Canada is the company’s first venture into North America.

7) It Will Have a Bit of French Commentary
Sources say there will be French-language commentary “on key events.”
8) The CEO is Pumped
“The whole company is extremely excited about our first venture into North America," CEO James Rushton is quoted as saying in a release. "We know that for Canadians sport is a way of life, they are crazy about it and have had to put up with a costly experience for some time. DAZN is designed to put fans first, so we're confident fans in Canada will enjoy our product and proposition."
