Hey folks!
First time poster - Ive been familiar with the Bell TV system as a former installer. I know this is probably the wierdest place to have this conversation considering.
My setup is:
2x SW-21's powering 2x 6131's.
Both do not have HDD's at this time; will come this week.
Do the externals have to be powered? If not, will the Seagate or WD Passport drives work? Thoughts?
Also, I have an iPhone with the remote PVR app installed. I know that most people don't this app but I know that there was talk that the boxes can be made to go active for this:
I can't seem to find anyone that has; i know its a Sling Powered app - which means the box itself needs SOFTWARE as the ETHERNET app would be inclusive; as it would on the 9242 (its not mentioned because its Bell powered).
Anyways - do help if anyone has had any remote access to a PVR via the app on a smartphone.
If not, who's in for a project?

I have a 320 GB WD Passport drive (power via the USB port) connected to my 6131 and it works fine. I don't record a lot from that receiver, but I use the pause/skip features a lot. I'm not recommending you get something unsupported, but...

Thanks for the help folks.
I purchased a Seagate 1TB POWERED Expansion drive.
At first, I plugged into my 6131 - was NOT SUPPORTED.
Damn near shat myself.
I unplugged, replugged - reciever gave me a pop up, formatted. Now I am recording The Last Day Of The Dinosaurs in HD.
I are pleased.

The only thing that upsets me is that there is not any support just yet for the Remote PVR app for 6131.
FIRMWARE UPDATE PLZ!
