Hi,

I have a 3100 receiver but I would like to replace it with the new dual tuner receiver so that I can record a show while watching something else. Will I have to change the dish (currently a 18" dish) or the wiring from the dish to the receiver?

I also heard about the "single-mode" functionality... can someone explain what it is and tell me if it's required if I want to use the 5200 receiver with a single TV?

Thanks!

You will need two feeds of RG-6 from your dish to take advantage of the dual tuner in the 5200.
If two feeds is really a problem for you, you could probably use this:

http://www.satelliteone.com/dish/store/accessories/separator.html

The HW is identical to the Dish 522, not sure if there is SW required to support the separator?

P.S. This site is reliable for shipping to Canada - I have ordered a 6100 remote from there with no hassles.

so if i understand that correctly, i can take the one feed i have currently hooked up to a 3100, put that on the end of it, then take two smaller RG6 cables and connect them to the two inputs on a 5200...if so, i wish we sold those...that is a great little "accessory".
