I have a pretty nice home theatre setup with a HTPC and high end Logitech 5.1 system. I've been resisting an HDTV I've given in and think it's about time.

I've been looking around for a while and I think found what I'm looking for. It's a Samsung PN50C540: 50" Plasma, 1080p. http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/tv-video/televisions/plasma-tv/PN50C540G3FXZA/index.idx?pagetype=prd_detail&tab=spec

I wanted to ask a few questions and get a few questions about the tv before I make any decisions.

What's the feeling on Plasma in general? I'm not overly concerned with burn in, and I'm not sure if it's really an issue anymore. I'm going to be using it to play PS3, but nothing crazy, maybe a few hours a day, a few days of the week. I've heard the colour on plasma is better than HDTV, but I'm not sure whether that's true or not.

Maybe it's just me, but it seems plasmas have more of a problem with glare than LCD?

There are similar models at the same size with only 720p that are about 3/4 the price. Is it worth it for me to pay the extra for 1080p?

This has "600Hz Subfield Motion Technology", which sounds to me like a load of crap. Right now I'm under the impression that refresh rate is a non issue. I find it pretty hard to tell the difference between 60 and 120, but I would be interested to know how others feel about this.

Thanks :)

If you are connecting it to a computer (you mentioned HTPC, so I assume you are), then 1080p is a must for proper resolution.
