Do you like spending your hard earned money, but just not on pricey Internet packages you don’t need? Here are some of the smallest on offer from dependable companies operating in British Columbia.

If you’re living in beautiful British Columbia and looking for Internet service that won’t run you out of house and home, you’re not alone. Not everyone needs or wants hundreds of gigabytes of data and speeds fast enough to upload 50 years worth of family home videos in 30 seconds or less. Sometimes you just want to watch some Netflix, some of the time.

If this is you and you live in Canada's wonderful province in the west, check out some of these cheapest Internet offers now in British Columbia:

Internet 5 is Shaw’s smallest Internet package. Order online and get an intro offer of 3 months at $35.00/month. (According to Shaw, the regular rate for this offering is $60.00/month).

What do you get? Download speeds of up to 5 Mbps, upload speeds of up to 1 Mbps, 65 GB/month data and access to Shaw Go WiFi hotspots. You can register up to 3 Shaw devices on this service, as well as 10 email addresses, which can come in handy if you want to split the bill between family and friends.

Bell offers mobile Internet in B.C. For just $10/month, you can get 100 MB of data for use on your mobile device. If you end up using more data, the fee automatically adjusts, and bumps you up to the next fee category (in this case, $30/month).

For $30/month you can also get 5 times the data (500 MB). Pay an extra fee and add voice service to your mobile device, with unlimited calling from Canada to the U.S, and with select Turbo Hubs, plug in a landline phone.

TekSavvy- if you haven’t heard of these guys yet, now is a good time to learn about them.

This company operates across Canada, and is here to stay. It’s based in Chatham, Ontario, and works in most of the country by connecting to the services of larger companies like Bell, and providing them to consumers at prices that can be lower than that offered by the parent carrier.

You can access both DSL and cable Internet through TekSavvy, in British Columbia.

Cable internet is available for as low as $23/month , offering speeds of up to 5 Mbps and 400GB of data, depending on your area.

For 15 Mbps and 400GB, you’ll pay $30-40/month.

When it comes to high speed DSL service, consumers can get speeds of 6 Mbps plus 400 GB of data for about $30/month, and 15 Mbps with 400 GB for $40/month. For a few dollars more with each of these packages (cable and DSL) you can bump yourself up to get unlimited data, and save the hassle of having to monitor your use, if you're prone to watching video content often online.

Of course, there are other, smaller companies offering Internet service in B.C. Our advice? Read reviews posted online before committing to make the best choice to suit your needs.
