Sonos firmware update adds support for Kindle Fire

Sonos, makers of wireless music systems for the home, announced today the release of Sonos System Software 3.6 along with a new Sonos Android Controller app which supports Android tablets and the Kindle Fire.

In addition to taking advantage of the tablet’s larger screen size, new features of the app include alarms, music library management and Twitter support.

Sonos now serving up music in a million rooms

Sonos Inc. recently announced that its devices are now streaming music to more than a million rooms around the world.

Founded in 2002, Sonos is a privately owned manufacturer of wireless music systems based out Santa Barbara California. The Sonos Wireless HiFi System is a popular choice for many Digital Home readers due to its relative low cost and ease of use.

Sonos upgrades firmware; releases Android App

Sonos, makers of wireless music systems for the home, announced this week the release of Sonos System Software 3.4 along with a new Sonos Controller for Android application and an updated iOS app.

In addition to support for the new Android app, the new firmware adds several new features for iOS users including support for iOS multitasking support and support for Apple Airplay when the Sonos system is connected to an Apple Airport Express.

Sonos issues firmware update

Sonos, makers of multi-room music systems, have announced the release of a new firmware update for its wireless music system.

Features of the Version 3.2 update include cross fading, ability to pair two Sonos S5s in the same room, Japanese and Simplified Chinese language support and new alarm settings.
