Winnipeg Jets broadcasts on Sports Radio 1290 and new TSN Jets channel

True North Sports & Entertainment and Bell Media have announced a ten year agreement awarding the regional television broadcast rights for the Winnipeg Jets to TSN, and the radio broadcast rights for the hockey club to Sports Radio 1290.

As part of the agreement, TSN will broadcast more than 60 regional regular season and pre-season games each season to fans in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Nunavut, the Northwest Territories and parts of Northwestern Ontario on the new specialty channel “TSN Jets.”

Rogers gets okay for French language sports station

In a broadcasting decisions handed down today by the CRTC, the federal regulator has approved an application by Rogers Broadcasting to operate a national, French-language sports channel.

Rogers had applied for the category 2 digital specialty channel last December saying the station would air competitive mainstream sports making it a direct competitor to RDS, the French sister station of TSN

Shaw gets approval for National Sports Channel
