Xperia X10 mini now at Rogers Wireless

The Xperia X10 Mini, a super small Android smartphone from Sony Ericsson is now available from Rogers Wireless.

The device, which operates with the Android 1.6 OS, is about the height and width of a credit card and comes with a 2.55-inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 240 by 320 pixels and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

1.2 Billion Mobile phones sold worldwide in 2009

Worldwide mobile phone sales declined 0.9% in 2009 to 1.21 billion units according to a recent report from Gartner.

Despite the annual decline there was some good news as mobile phone sales increased 8.3% to 340 million units in the final quarter of year.

Sony Xperia X10 due out in second quarter

Sony announced today that it would be launching the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Smartphone in the second quarter of 2010.

Featuring a customized Android user interface, the phone has a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen with 480 x 840 resolution, 1Ghz processor, 8-megapixel camera, GPS, WiFi and a customized Android user interface.
