Specialty channel Travel + Escape gets a new look and new programs

Travel + Escape, an English language specialty channel devoted to travel and adventure programming will be getting a new look on November 1st along with a number of new programs.

Owners of the station, Glassbox Television, says more than 70% off the primetime schedule will be overhauled with a number of newly commissioned originals and acquired series added to the line-up.

Sportsnet gets a makeover

Rogers announced today that it will be giving its Sportsnet television, radio, print and internet properties an makeover starting Monday October 3rd.

Gone is the old red dot surrounded by a rotated and stylized C which was a throwback to when the station was called CTV Sportsnet, replaced by the word Sportsnet with a red and blue swoosh underneath.

/A\ Network to be renamed CTV2

Bell Media announced today that it will rename the /A\ network to CTV Two this fall.

Bell says the rebranded network will broadcast in high definition to English Canadian viewers in Vancouver/Victoria, Toronto/Barrie, Ottawa, London, Windsor and Atlantic Canada.

Twist TV replaces Discovery Health on November 1

Canwest Media has announced it will be replacing the Discovery Health digital specialty channel on November 1st with Twist TV.

The broadcaster says the new reality channel is about real life with a twist such as capturing the experiences of parents dealing with out of control kids and life altering health situations or kids dealing with pageant moms and irresponsible fathers.
