Mac App store opens in January

Apple announced this week that that its previously announced Mac App store will be open for business on January 6th.

The company says the online store will be available to Mac users in 90 countries, including Canada, at launch and will feature paid and free apps in categories like Education, Games, Graphics & Design, Lifestyle, Productivity and Utilities.

Bitdefender releases anti-virus software for OS X

BitDefender, makers of security software for Windows computers, today announced the release of anti-virus software for Mac OS X users.

Similar to its Window’s products, BitDefender Antivirus for Mac has been developed to secure Mac computer systems from viruses and other malware threats.

Kindle for Mac now available

Amazon today announced “Kindle for Mac,” a free application that lets Mac users read Kindle books on their computers.

The app runs on OSX 10.5 later and uses Amazon’s Whispersync technology to synchronize your bookmarks and current place in your book across all supported devices.
