Muppet Radio airs on SiriusXM over Thanksgiving weekend

This U.S. Thanksgiving weekend, Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear and the Muppets will be appear on Muppet Radio, a five-day limited run channel.

Naturally the show will be hosted by Kermit the Frog and feature classic Muppet music and an array of Muppets interacting with hosts from various talk, music, and sports channels.

Sirius XM holiday music programming begins November 14th

Tis the season as subscription satellite radio provider Sirius XM launches two of its limited run holiday music channels next Monday November 14th. In addition to the regular five holiday channels, Sirius XM this year has added two more: Navidad and Holiday Soul.

Launching on Monday will be Holly, which features contemporary holiday music and Holiday Traditions which plays traditional holiday recordings from the ’40s through the ’60s by artists such as Bing Crosby, Andy Williams, Ray Conniff and Nat “King” Cole.

Simon & Garfunkel Radio for two weeks on Sirius XM

To commemorate the fortieth anniversary of their critically-acclaimed Bridge Over Troubled Water album, Sirius XM will air Simon & Garfunkel Radio, a two week limited run channel.

The channel will feature music spanning Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel’s careers, including music from the duo’s catalogue as well as solo music from both artists.

Sirius XM celebrates legendary comedian on Richard Pryor Radio

“Richard Pryor Radio,” a four day limited run channel featuring the comedy of the legendary comedian launches December 30th on Sirius and XM Satellite radio.

Pryor, who died in 2005 at the age of 65, was known for uncompromising examinations of racism and topical contemporary issues, which employed colourful, vulgar and profane language.

Paul McCartney Live at Apollo Theater on Sirius XM

Sirius XM Radio announced today that it will broadcast Paul McCartney live at the famous Apollo Theater in New York City on December 13th.

The broadcaster says the concert, which will air exclusively on satellite radio, will also celebrate Sirius XM reaching 20 million subscribers, a milestone the company expects to achieve later this month.

Limited Run Elton! Channel on Sirius XM

“Elton!”, a seven day limited run channel featuring the music Of Elton John launched today on Sirius and XM Satellite radio.

Replacing the Bridge for the next week, the station will feature music spanning John’s prolific career including songs from “The Union,” his latest collaboration with Leon Russell.

Five days of The Who on Sirius XM

“The Who Channel”, a five day limited run channel featuring music from iconic rock band debuts this Thursday on Sirius and XM Satellite radio.

The station will feature the band’s Super Bowl halftime performance live along with exclusive and in-depth interviews with Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey.

Mary J. Blige Week on SIRIUS XM

Sirius XM today announced “Mary J. Blige Week,” seven days of programming featuring performances, music and interviews showcasing the artists career.

The special programming begins next Monday, January 11 at 12:00 am ET and runs for seven days on The Heat, SIRIUS channel 50 and XM channel 68.
