Galaxy Nexus coming to most Canadian wireless companies this month

Last month if you wanted the new Galaxy Nexus smartphone, the first Android device to come with Ice Cream sandwich (ICS) natively installed, you had to buy it from Bell Mobility or Virgin Mobility.

The good news is that by the end of this month, the unlocked device should also be available from most other wireless providers in Canada including Fido, Rogers wireless, Telus, Videotron and Wind Mobile.

Acer announces the Iconia Tab A200 Android Tablet

Acer America today announced the Iconia Tab A200, a new 10.1-inch tablet computer, will be available in the United States on January 15th.

When it’s released, the Iconia Tab A200, will be operating on the Android Honeycomb 3.2 operating system, however, Acer promises a free upgrade to Android 4.0 (aka Ice Cream Sandwich) will will be available in mid-February.

Galaxy Nexus Smartphone goes on sale this week

Over the weekend, Samsung and Bell Mobility announced the new Galaxy Nexus smartphone, the first Android device to come with Ice Cream sandwich (ICS) natively installed, will go onsale this Wednesday in select locations in downtown Toronto.

Early adopters will be able to buy the unlocked phone for $650 without a contact at the Bell, Source, Telephone Booth or Wireless Wave stores in the Toronto Eaton Center or at the nearby Virgin Mobile or Best Buy Canada stores beginning at 1pm on Wednesday.

Last month Google and Samsung announced the Galaxy Nexus smartphone, the first Android smartphone to come with Ice Cream sandwich natively installed.

Today in a downtown meeting with representatives from Samsung, I had the chance to see the new smartphone in action and learn more about its launch in Canada.

Google and Samsung have announced that the Galaxy Nexus smartphone which will be the first Android smartphone to come with Ice Cream sandwich natively installed.

For those readers who don’t know, Ice Cream Sandwich is the code name for the fourth major version of the Android mobile Operating system which Google says combines the best of the Android 2.x phone interface with the Android 3.x Honeycomb tablet interface.
