Telus expands 4G wireless services in Manitoba

Telus said today it has improved wireless service in Manitoba by turning on more new HSPA+ dual-cell wireless sites in Manitoba.

The new wireless coverage can be found in Selkirk, Victoria Beach, Lockport, Ste. Anne, Steinbach and along Highway 1 to Portage la Prairie. The company also said that full coverage will be available in Portage la Prairie in early 2012, with service to Brandon expected next summer.

Telus Mobility picks up speed in Atlantic Canada

Telus Mobility has upgraded its wireless network to HSPA+ dual cell in Atlantic Canada, the company said today. The improvements in Eastern part of Canada are part of Telus’ $1.8 billion plan to expand and improve service across the country.

Videotron’s wireless network now accessible to 4 million Quebecers

Videotron today launched wireless phone service in a number of Quebec municipalities including Joliette, Sorel-Tracy, Chateauguay, Sainte-Marie de Beauce and Montmagny.

The service is now available to more than 4 million people across nearly 90% of Videotron’s service area, including the Saguenay-Lac Saint-Jean, Centre du Quebec, Monteregie, Mauricie, Lanaudiere, Sherbrooke, Chaudieres-Appalaches, Montreal, Quebec City and Laurentians regions.

Rogers High speed network now covers 97% of Manitoba

Rogers Wireless announced today the expansion of its high speed HSPA+ wireless network in Manitoba.

The announcement means 97 per cent of the Manitoba population will have access to data download speeds of up to 21 megabits per second.

Videotron launches 3G Wireless service

At a joint-press conference held in Montreal and Quebec City yesterday, Videotron announced the long awaited launch of its HSPA+ mobile network.

The company says the new mobile network is now up and running across Québec and 3G service plans are now available to customers in the greater Montréal and Québec City areas, and in some municipalities in between.

3G+ Wireless network now available in Saskatchewan

On August 16th, SaskTel went live with the first phase of its new 3G+ wireless network after a six week technical trial with select employees.

This week, thanks to a network sharing agreement signed in 2009, Telus Mobility customers in Saskatchewan also have access to the faster 3G+ wireless network.
