theScore signs U.S. College sports TV deal with Fox

Score Media announced today it has entered into a long-term television with FOX International Sports Channels for live collegiate sports content.

The deal includes at least 250 hours per year of college football, basketball and hockey games from some of America’s top college conferences including the Big 12 Conference, Pac-12 Conference and Conference USA.

Netflix to stream Glee and Sons of Anarchy

Netflix in the U.S. announced today that it had expanded a distribution deal with Twentieth Century Fox (Fox) which will add the first season of “Glee” and the first two seasons of the cult favourite “Sons of Anarchy” beginning today.

The firm said that additional seasons would be added annually. No word yet on Canadian availability of the two shows.

TV Networks audience greying faster than population

The median age, the age at which half its audience was younger and half older for viewers of the big four U.S. Television Networks is now 51, according to a report by veteran media analyst Steve Sternberg.

The report says the median age has climbed at twice the rate of the general U.S. population over the last twenty years.

This Week on Blu-ray (Jan 26th)

Digital Home’s top pick on Blu-ray this week is “Whip-it”, a comedy film from 20th Century Fox directed by Drew Barrymore in her directorial debut.

The film stars Ellen Page as Bliss Cavendar, a small town teenager and former beauty pageant winner who breaks free of her small-town bonds by joining a roller derby team she discovers in Austin, Texas.

Human Target premieres this weekend

Human Target is an upcoming action drama television series which is based on the popular DC comic book character of the same title premiers this weekend on CTV and FOX television.

Shot in Vancouver, the show stars Mark Valley as Christopher Chance, a private contractor /bodyguard that puts his own life on the line for his clients.
