Rogers announced today the opening of a new data centre in Calgary providing Canadian and international businesses with a certified data centre presence in Western Canada.

Primus building 8th data centre in Markham Ontario

Primus Business Services, a division of Primus Canada Inc., has announced that construction has begun on a new Data Centre in Markham Ontario which the company says is necessary to meet business demand in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

The first phase of the 30,000 square foot GTA Data Centre initiative will be a 7,500 square foot pod that is built to LEED standards for environmental sustainability.

Shaw breaks ground on new data centre in Calgary

Shaw Communications announced today it was breaking ground on a new energy efficient data centre in Calgary, Alberta which will be used to increase Shaw’s broadband internet capacity.

Expected to be completed by 2014, the center is expected to achieve LEED certification by employing a number of green building technologies such as “free cooling.”
