Funny Radio launching in London on New Year’s Day

Montreal based Astral Radio said today it will be launching a comedy radio station in London Ontario on New Year’s day.

Funny 1410 AM, which Astral says is Canada’s first all comedy radio, will feature comedy bits featuring the biggest names in stand up from Canada and around the world.

Sirius XM celebrates legendary comedian on Richard Pryor Radio

“Richard Pryor Radio,” a four day limited run channel featuring the comedy of the legendary comedian launches December 30th on Sirius and XM Satellite radio.

Pryor, who died in 2005 at the age of 65, was known for uncompromising examinations of racism and topical contemporary issues, which employed colourful, vulgar and profane language.

TV Networks audience greying faster than population

The median age, the age at which half its audience was younger and half older for viewers of the big four U.S. Television Networks is now 51, according to a report by veteran media analyst Steve Sternberg.

The report says the median age has climbed at twice the rate of the general U.S. population over the last twenty years.

Second City Comedy Radio this weekend on Sirius XM

This weekend Sirius XM’s Laugh USA channel is rebranded Second City Comedy Radio in order to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the iconic improvisational comedy theatre.

The two day limited-run channel will run all day Saturday and Sunday (December 12th and 13th) featuring comedic sketches and interviews with past members of the troupe.
