Fire log and Christmas music channels return to Shaw

Shaw announced today the return of the Shaw Fire Log, back for its 25th holiday season, along with other holiday programming for cable and satellite television customers.

In addition, Shaw has added Christmas music channels which are available on the Galaxie channels and online through the Galaxie Broadband Player.

I’m not sure how many kids today still look forward to the Wish Book but it was fun to find out that Sears now has a Wish Book application for the iPad so 21st century can enjoy the fun.

Canadian Christmas Flash Mob Video tops 26 million views on YouTube

Alphabet Photography Inc., based in Niagara Falls, Ontario organized a Flash Mob in Welland, Ontario, Canada on November 13th to spread some Christmas cheer and a YouTube video of the event has gone viral.

Jennifer Blakeley of AlphabetPhotography.com came up with the idea for the flash mob and organized Chorus Niagara, a non-profit choir of more than 80 singers who went from quietly blending into the busy mall atmosphere to belting out a classic Christmas carol to the surprise of mallgoers. Seaway Mall’s Food Court in Welland, Ontario, Canada acted as the backdrop.

Sirius XM holiday music programming now on

Sirius XM today launched two of its five limited run holiday music channels.

Launching today is Holly, which will feature contemporary holiday music as well as traditional favourites, including songs by John Mayer, Colbie Caillat, Josh Groban and Michael Buble and Holiday Traditions will feature traditional holiday recordings from the ’40s through the ’60s by artists such as Bing Crosby, Andy Williams, Ray Conniff and Nat “King” Cole.

Consumers planning to spend more on electronics this Xmas

U.S. consumers plan to spend more on consumer electronics this holiday season, as technology garners a larger share of holiday gift budgets, according to a new survey released today by the Consumer Electronics Association. (CEA)

The industry trade group 16th annual Holiday Purchase Pattern Study conducted in September found that four out of five adults (80 percent) plan on buying CE products this holiday season, the highest results in the 16 years of the survey.
