Sony announces new Camcorder line-up

Sony this week unveiled its new line of Handycam Camcorders including five models with a built-in video projector which lets owners project video and images up to 100” diagonal (from a distance of 5m) onto walls, ceilings, or other flat surfaces.

The line-up includes three entry level HD camcorders, six mid-range devices, four high end HD models, and one HD 3D camcorder.

Low cost DXG Cameras coming to Canada this fall

Representatives from California based DXG The Digital Camera Company visited Toronto this week to announce that its full line of digital cameras and pocket camcorders will be available in Canadian retail stores beginning this fall.

Until now, the company, which has been selling low cost cameras and camcorders in the U.S. since 2004, had only been selling selected devices in Canada through the Shopping Channel and from the company’s website.

Canon announces eight new Vixia Camcorders

Canon Canada has announced eight new Vixia High Definition flash memory camcorders for 2011 which includes Canon’s new flagship model the Vixia HF G10, the high-end VIXIA HF S30, three compact VIXIA HF M-series models and three entry-level VIXIA HF R-series models.

Rugged Mini HD Camcorder costs just $130

California based DXG, makers of low cost digital camcorders, this week announced that its DXG-125V all-terrain, all-weather high definition pocket camcorder is now available to Canadian consumers for $130.

Features of the inexpensive camcorder include: 720p HD recording; 2-inch LCD display; MP3 player; and a built-in HDMI slot.

Samsung HMX-T10 HD Camcorder has a twist

Samsung today announced the HMX-T10, a 1920 x 1080p HD Camcorder with a twist. The twist is a lens that’s on a 20-degree slanted lens which the company says makes it easier and more comfortable for capturing video.

Features of the new HD Camcorder include a 5.1M megapixel BSI (Back Side Illuminated) CMOS sensor, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), 10x zoom, 2.7-inch touch screen LCD screen and the ability to capture still images and video footage at the same time

Canon HD Camcorder will let you record for a day

Canon has announced the Vixia HF M32 Dual Flash Memory camcorder which will come equipped with 64GB of internal flash memory, twice its predecessor and enough to record up to 24 hours of HD video.

The device gets its dual moniker from the fact that it also includes an SD memory card slot that is fully compatible with latest generation SDXC memory cards. The new SDXC memory card specification increases storage capacity from 32GB up to 2TB and enhances data transfer speeds.

Second Gen Flip MinoHD Camcorder coming in July

Cisco has announced the second generation of its popular Flip MinoHD camcorder is now scheduled to arrive in Canada during the middle of July.

The updated camcorder has a slightly more rounded design than its predecessor, responsive touch-sensitive buttons, and a durable brushed metal finish.
