Rogers and Bell announce deal to buy 75% of MLSE

Bell Canada and Rogers Communications announced today they have agreed to purchase a 75% ownership position in Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (MLSE) from Ontario Teachers Pension Plan. Each company will own a 37.5% equity interest.

MLSE is Canada’s largest sports and entertainment company and owners of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors, Toronto Marlies and Toronto FC.

March Madness on Sirius XM

Sirius XM Radio said today it will broadcast every game of the 2011 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship, better known as March Madness, on Sirius and XM.

Subscrition satellite radio subscribers will be able to hear the play-by-play of every match-up from the First Four on March 15 and 16 through to the Final Four and National Championship game in Houston on April 2 and 4.

TSN to broadcast NCAA March Madness

Canadian Basketball fans looking for live coverage of this year’s NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship, know to most as NCAA March Madness will be happy to learn TSN and TSN2 will be airing the games beginning Thursday, March 17 at 11:30 a.m. ET.

FIBA World Championships to air on TSN2

TSN has announced a two year deal with Canada Basketball that will give TSN2 the right to air the upcoming 2010 FIBA World Championship.

The FIBA World Championship is a world basketball tournament for men’s national teams hosted every four years by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).

NCAA March Madness on Sirius XM

Sirius XM Radio has announced it will air every game of the 2010 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship from the opening round game on March 16 through the Final Four and National Championship game in Indianapolis on April 3-5.

For the first time, tournament games will be available to both Sirius and XM satellite radio listeners.
