Sonos firmware update adds support for Kindle Fire

Sonos, makers of wireless music systems for the home, announced today the release of Sonos System Software 3.6 along with a new Sonos Android Controller app which supports Android tablets and the Kindle Fire.

In addition to taking advantage of the tablet’s larger screen size, new features of the app include alarms, music library management and Twitter support.

Kobo unveils VOX android tablet and eReader

Toronto based Kobo Inc today announced the Kobo Vox Colour, a $200 Android tablet with WiFi connectivity and a seven inch LCD multi-touch colour screen with 1024 x 800 pixel resolution.

Kobo says the was built for readers but also comes pre-loaded with an email, web browser, and media player application. For magazine and book reading, the device also comes with the Zinio application pre-installed.

Amazon Fire Tablet announced

The Kindle Fire will feature a 7-inch touchscreen, dual core processor and sell for $199, considerably less than recently announced Android tablets from Acer, Asus, Motorola, Samsung, Sony and Toshiba.
