From what I gather, its quite an involved one so I think he just threw it back and moved on to the next easy one.

That is exactly what you need behind a Dual Tuner Receiver if there is only 1 line to that location.

It cannot be used to feed 2 x 6400's for example, only Dual Tuner receivers.

As long as it is being used with an UHF Pro Remote you should be fine. Consider an old Laptop Cooler to place under the receiver if it starts getting hot at all, powered from the USB port.

Your LNBF is a DPP Quad, again no such creature as a DPP Plus Quad. DPP = Dish Pro Plus.
