Can you tell us how you turned off this CEC poling I may have experienced the same symptoms as you at one point.

There is no power button so the video signal...

There is no power button so the video signal stays on after you shutdown the OS down until you physically unplug the power of the Pi. Once you do that, I believe the monitor goes into standby.

I have been trying to use it as a desktop OS with "wheezy" loaded. It is painfully slow and I don't really like Midori much as a browser. It was much better at a Media Center with Raspbmc purpose...

I played with XBMC on it as well. Almost tried the other day to get Chromium on it. I Really can't wait to try it as a Minecraft client. That should be fun! Sadly its been sitting collecting dust...

I ordered one from Allied Aug-Sept and was told to wait until Dec but mine showed up in late Oct. Early Oct is when they started shipping the 512mb model but I ended up with a 256mb.

Mine finally came in wasn't expecting it until December. Grabbed a quick basic distro from the RPi website to try and boot it and no issues. Worked great on a 720p Samsung 24" TV. Going to try that...

I ordered one back in Aug. I called the other day to check the status, December it should be here. I am planning on trying to build a Linux PVR /MC.
