A former Bell Media show, The Flash, isn't listed in Netflix Canada's October lineup. So does this mean The Flash doesn't have a home in Canada come premiere day? Sorry if in the wrong thread.

hercules130 2018-09-28 09:29 AM

According to Netflix Canada YouTube announcement, they will air season 5 of The Flash starting in October but it seems like they do not know when yet.

Dr.Dave 2018-09-28 10:40 AM

Thanks for finding that info @hercules130 . Let's move the discussion of The Flash schedule to The CW Schedule thread, since Bell Media is no longer involved.

Bell Media issued a Press Release about the Space freeview and premiere schedule. DOCTOR WHO premieres Sunday Oct. 7 at 1:45 p.m. ET, airing spoiler-free as Space delivers the much-anticipated debut in simulcast with the U.K., followed by an encore broadcast at 8 p.m. ET. Following the premiere, the 10-episode season continues in its regular Sundays at 8 p.m. ET timeslot beginning Oct. 14.

Zap2it shows a sampling of previous seasons' episodes beginning early Sunday morning, although they don't have the afternoon premiere yet.

Bayguy 2018-09-29 03:20 AM

Thank you Dr Dave! That will be late morning for us. Zap2it says 12-1 so maybe they're showing it again right after, also late afternoon our time.

Dr.Dave 2018-09-29 01:00 PM

@Bayguy Space updated the free preview entry that @SHEBERT posted:

Doctor Who—October 7 at 1:45PM e 10:45AM p

When I said that Zap2it didn't have the afternoon premiere yet, I should have said they didn't have the correct time for the afternoon premiere, since they don't have it at 10:45AM your time. Space probably distributed that preliminary info to Zap2it and the other guides before it had the precise time that the BBC would air the program. Space will show it again at 8PM ET which works out to 5PM PT. I doubt they will show it twice in the afternoon for a total of 3 times in 1 day.

I found that the BBC says the episode length is 1 hour, 4 minutes (Source) and I don't think BBC airs commercials, so double-check your PVR schedule if you plan to record.

The SHOWTIME comedy series BLACK MONDAY is set to premiere on CraveTV in January 2019, so it will probably air on TMN as well. (Source)

I've just gotten back from an out of country trip so I'm not up to date. What justifiable reason is Space giving for premiering Doctor Who on a Sunday afternoon? (ET). This is the most ridiculous time I've ever encountered for a major series to premiere a new season. Will this be the time every week? I hope not.

gbamber 2018-10-01 07:52 PM

They are showing this premiere episode of Doctor Who at the very same time as in Britain. It is a smart ploy to counter eager fans who would otherwise find it on the internet. This episode (and all the rest) will also be on at 5pt in its regular time-slot before Last Ship. The show sometimes goes long, so program extra time. Also, there are other Who stuff on this Sunday.
