Bell Fibe TV - Freezing Issue: Live TV, Restart and PVR
Hey Guys,

I'm new to the Digital Home community and this is my first post.

I have been a Bell Fibe TV subscriber for almost six years now and ever since I moved into my new home I have been experiencing freezing issues with my service. I never had any issues with the service at my old home.

Bell technical support had me switch out my two VIP2202 HD receivers that were connected to the HomeHub 2000 via coax cable with two 2502 HD wireless receivers. This was done after Bell had run a number of signal tests and had technicians dispatched to my home on two separate occasions and not being able to resolve the problem.

This somewhat mitigated the issue when watching live TV as it now only freezes every few hours. The bigger issue is when watching TV using "Restart" and when watching any recorded program using the "PVR" the programming constantly freezes. My PVR is the VIP2262 HD receiver.

I also have Bell Fibe 25 Internet and this service is working without issues. I ran a speed test to the modem and I'm getting approximately 31Mbps down and 10Mbps up with a latency of 12ms.

I'm currently at a loss at what steps to follow to address this issue. Any input would be appreciated.

I would have pinned a freezing problem on the PVR right from the start. Its hard disk is a bit of a weak spot.

Surprised that Bell didn't swap that out before the receivers.

I'm having the same problem. Intermittent freezing when watching TV or recorded programs on TV connected to the VIP2264 PVR. Watching TV on other receivers is fine. Watching a recorded program on other receivers experiences the freezing also. I tried pulling the power on the receiver and rebooting the entire system to no avail. This all points to the hard drive in the 2264 PVR. Here's why. TV programs get recorded/routed through the hard drive before output to the TV. That is necessary to support the pause and replay functions. So if the hard drive is glitchy, you could expect issues like freezing and pixilation. What to do? Call Bell to have them test the equipment. I did and no problems showed on my PVR. Next step is to replace the PVR. I own mine so have to pay full cost of replacement. I got one on Kijiji, activated it and all is well now. Has anyone out there ever done a hard drive swap? would be nice to know how to. Thanks all.

I had the same issue in September less than a month after signing up for FibeTV. I don't own mine so they just sent me a replacement and it worked fine. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
