Source Cable (Operated by Rogers) updates
I thought I would start a thread on updates regarding Source Cable (Operated by Rogers)
1.) As of November 4, 2014 Source Cable is now operated by Rogers Cable
2.) No transition to Rogers billing and packages has been announced
3.) Customers should continue to call Source Cable and visit Source Cable's website regarding any inquiries
As of November 18, all channels have been converted to digital only, including basic cable channels. Source Cable does not use digital adapters. You must purchase a DCT or DCX box for each TV in your house.

Interesting that they've added BBC World HD, so how come Rogers Cable customers don't have it in HD?
I also noticed Source Cable has WWOR in it's lineup. I wonder if Rogers will now remove it?
I'm guessing as contracts run out, some channels might get dropped.
Gone Viral TV
These were all pre Rogers. I wouldn't be surprised if these disappear. As for HD channels that aren't carried on Rogers, I would imagine Source Cable will retain them even if Rogers main areas don't have them so long as at least the SD version is offered on Rogers other systems. Since Rogers is aggressively moving more channels to digital, I'm guessing more HD channels for the main Rogers systems are on the way.
I still don't get why Rogers is holding out adding channels to it's other Hamilton system now under the Rogers brand. They have more than enough bandwidth. Shaw dropped all the upper tier analog channels before they transitioned the system to Rogers and Rogers has added almost nothing since taking over, just whatever was mandated by the CRTC; Unis, LCN and Cable 14 HD. They don't even have the extra TSN feeds.
You might be right about contracts. It could also be technical reasons, maybe some equipment needs to be installed in their Headend which may take time, maybe SDV stuff, who knows. I also noticed Source has Cartoon Network as well.
Also find irt interesting the Ethnics are in the 500's and not in the 700-899 7 some in the 900's? naybe this is a indication Rogers maybe doing a channel Re-linement?
Ethnics were always in the 500s under Source Cable. I wouldn't read anything into how Source Cable or Rogers Hamilton have their channels setup. Both systems are numbered based on pre-Rogers setup. Also Source Cable has nowhere near the amount of ethnics that Rogers main systems have. Source Cable has maybe 20 ethnics.
I fully expect that Source Cable and Rogers Hamilton will eventually have the same channel numbers as existing Rogers systems.
These are all the HD channels carried by Source Cable that do not appear to be on Rogers
BBC World HD
Cartoon Network HD
AMI-Télé was added to channel 65 back in December.
Also Source customers received a welcome letter from Rogers back in December with a promo code to get free NHL Game Centre Live for the remainder of this season.
I did a speed test today, to figure out how fast my connection was going, and found out that my internet services were coming from Source Cable.
Here's the funny thing...I live near Concession St. Last I checked, that used to be Mountain Cable territory.
I'm just wondering...has Rogers closed down the former Mountain Cable server plant, and re-directed all of their internet service to the Source Cable server plant?
Not sure. The office where the former Mountain cable plant on Hester street is still open. It's very possible that they have migrated the Internet traffic. I'm going to assume the Source Cable plant will probably be the head end for both former Source Cable and former Mountain Cable customers since it's pretty much a brand new facility.
