I've had my GS3 for a couple of months now. I bought one for my wife as well at the same time. We both absolutely love them. I did not vote at the top of this thread due the fact that I already owned the phones by the time I read this thread.

As for battery life: if anyone wants to try to increase the life, download the "2X Battery" app by Sam Lu from your Google Play store. It made the night and day differences on both mine and my wife's phones.

And as for cases, I have the Urban Armor Gear "Navigator" case on mine. The UAG cases come with a screen protector: http://www.urbanarmorgear.com/collections/samsung
and the otter box is a good case as well: http://www.otterbox.com/samsung-gala...efault,sc.html

That 2X battery app really does seem to work well. Definitely a noticeable increase! Thanks for that recommendation. :)

And what Carrier are you with again?

Samsung Canada have released the update to Rogers, Telus, Bell & Virgin, officially it was due tomorrow but appears to be rolling out a day early

BGY11 2012-12-02 09:52 PM

I'm guessing a lot of people are downloading the update, as when I click System Update, I get the following:

"Access to the software update service is provided to users in the order in which they request it. Try again later"

brownstar 2012-12-02 10:20 PM

Same here......I'll try it later, or tomorrow and use up some of works bandwidth

Dwayne Gorniak 2012-12-02 11:55 PM

I got the same message as well. I too, am with Telus.

TKG26 2012-12-03 12:41 AM

Guess i got lucky, had been checking all weekend. And then all of a sudden i saw the updated notification .. I must have been one of the first to catch it..

So far so good. Quite a few new little features. Google now is in there a few new samsung based widgets.

BGY11 2012-12-03 02:12 AM

For those of us getting the error, are you running a custom recovery and/or rooted? That may be causing the issue

Stock standard SG3, same message. The servers are overloaded?

I got my update last night as well, on Bell. Update was very smooth, no problems. Project Butter has really done well.

If it's failing, the servers may be busy. Probably just want to keep trying.

TKG26 2012-12-03 10:39 AM

http://www.sammobile.com lists the firmware you can download if you register.

brownstar 2012-12-03 01:51 PM

You'll need to flash it if you download from sammobile. I got bored of waiting for the OTA servers to catch up so downloaded and upgraded via Kies, took all of 15 minutes to complete.
