I agree. That kind of speed at that price just isn't worth it. Infact at that speed and price there should be no cap at all. Shows you how screwed up the incumbents are. Maybe the Netflix guy was right :)

I too am with TSI, and get 28/1 with 300GB, for $45. Good for me!

The 75mbps for $99 is still in market, just no longer promoted on their website. You can still get 10mbps up on the $99 ultimate tier if you live in an eligible area.

I spoke with a Rogers agent and they said their website should be updated to show the $99 75MB tier... although no change as of today

I think it's more of a marketing ploy to keep up with Bell's symmetrical 175 service.

I do love when people point how long it would take to get to the monthly GB limit. Its residential internet, its not meant to go at full speed 24/7 no stopping. You want that type service pay for it. See what a commercial line like that costs you. My last one started just shy of $800.00 per month, and even then, had a soft limit on bandwidth.

I download more than my fair share of ****linux distro's**** from UseNet, and TV shows because oh lets say my PVR wiped everything for the 10th time this year. 250 Gigs is on the lower end of caps when for $99.99 I get the same cap, with half the speed down. Ok, I actually got 50% off that price when the promotion was around earlier this year, but you get the point.

American cable co's are doing the exact same thing. Its not going to change anytime soon. Please don't reference the EU or Japan, it's a comparison between apples and oranges.

What do you mean that 250GB is on the lower end of caps? This is the highest cap available with a traditional cable or phone co in Ontario unless you are in one of the very few Bell areas with FTTH where you can get 300GB for $200 per month.

ummm Teksavvy and a few others all have 300 GIG plans as their starter, and then unlimited plans.

As for my comment, 250 GIGS is on the lower end, when you consider what your paying for with Rogers. Like I said, for $99.99 I get 75 down, 2 up, 250 GIG, now they want over 120 per month for 150 down, 10 up, and still 250. Double the speed down, five times up, and still the same cap. you also cannot buy any extra bundles of bandwidth if you have any special discount on your account. Tried and denied.

Overage Fee
Every summer I watch Big Brother live feeds and typically go over my cap

They have a $50 max over charge which I typically pay in August.

I recieved a call from Rogers last week asking if I wanted to up my cap and I said no, since it was only 1 months that I go over so it was not worth it.

BTW - 480 gig usage in August so I would go over on any of the packages

He told me they were bumping the overage fee to $100 and I said I do not care since I am switching to Bell Fibe, it just came on my street and I have been waiting so long to ditch Rogers.

So, I guess one last shot from the worst company in the world for customer service, they charged me the $100 overage fee for September.

When I called and asked where was I notified of the increase the CSR said she had to go and look. After waiting on hold for 30 minutes she said it was on my June and July invoice.

I said I was looking at them right now and there was nothing on them regarding the bump in fee.

She insisted that is were I was notified and when I finally asked which line this notification was located on, she admitted she was lying and did not really have a copy of my invoice.

Only 3 more weeks I have to give money to this sham of a company

That what it is showing right now on the Rogers website... Express 80GB, Extreme 500GB, Extreme Plus 150GB, Ultimate 250GB... wtf?

It's a typo. It's 120GB and only if you have upgraded to a DOCSIS 3.0 modem.

Did you change your province? They do offer Extreme with 500GB in the Atlantic region.

Just a heads up.. I will try and post more about it when I can..

Appears some residential people have received a mailing.. saying the internet pricing on packages is going up AGAIN, by $3 :(

Haven't received myself yet, so cant confirm.. weither just select regions, etc.

Yep $3 for internet and $2 for home phone plans. No impact on TV pricing this time around.
