There already is a PalmOS emulator for the Pre (MotionApps Classic), and it runs noticeably faster than other Palm devices. As with any emulator, there are apps that don't work with it, but the developers are trying to fix that.

profets neither would I, but thats why we're hoping some big changes for WM7.. maybe something along the lines of zune HD interface?

profets lawman, i'm with you on that one. webOS or WM7, but with a 800x480 capacitive touch screen but with no hw keyboard for me.

WebOS on a Tegra platform in a smartphone device with built-in Wifi-N, Bluetooth. Ability to run older Palm applications if possible. Slideout hw keyboard.

polaris This is the general sense of most reviews. Same for the first Android phone, but both OS's are going to offer legit competition now at least. Hardware will get better as more phones come out. The new HTC Android phone looks quite nice for example. Palm has done well with the Treo in the past so I expect their hardware to catch up to iexpections.

A very detailed review of the Palm Pre which i found quite interesting. Essentially the reviewer loved WebOS but really disliked the Palm Pre hardware
