Jeff Flowerday Well I don't think they will include 10-20GB of flash on each motherboard, and no it probably wouldn't be more cost effective either.

My guess is they are just increasing the existing system flash in size to accomodate the NXE and expansion, bumping it up to 512MB or something and still not have it accessable for game storage. Removing the need to buy a storage card or hard drive is stealing right out of their own pocket.

Microsoft makes more money on accessories and games then the actual console by far!

That would be my guess. No guarantee it will be cheaper than the current arcade, probably cost the same.
It almost would't make sense for them to include a spinning disk drive. It would probably be more cost effective to put 10-20GB of flash mem on board.

Eluder That's correct, they did add additional memory to the boards to support NXE.

Bdub A coworker overheard a similar discussion at Future Shop.

Maybe it's an enhancement to the Arcade SKU.

I read before about some small storage being added the motherboard to support the new firmware.

E3 should reveal all.

Possible Xbox360 Price Drop?

I went to look for an Xbox360 at Wal-mart today and they didn't have any Arcade units on the shelf. So I asked one of the sales people and they said they might have some more. Then he mentioned that the arcade units were not going to be re-stocked. This makes me think that a new cheap xbox may be announced at E3.

Hopefully anyways
