First thing is to check each connector for a stray piece of shielding across to the pin. Is there any other hardware on the line? Like an old splitter etc. If so remove it.
Check also for pin length, 1mm beyond the nut is adequate, more can do harm.
Power Supply in a UPS or Power Bar can cause issues.

Sounds like an issue with the DPP44. Possibly the power inserter is bad. If possible measure the voltage from the inserter. You should get between 20 and 28 volts DC.
Or perhaps the cable the inserter is connected to is bad or has a bad connector.

DPP44 Switch with DPP Twin LNB NOT working
I have a DPP Twin with 2 cables coming off the left side, and ZERO coming off the "INPUT" on the right side. These 2 cables go into the DPP44 Switch. From this switch, the power inserter (*IS* plugged into AC) runs into my 6131. The check switch shows a DPP44 switch but only shows one satellite (82). It will not detect the 2nd satellite.
I read somewhere that the DPP44 switch kills the DPPTwin's ability to work. Is this the reason why? And if so, how do I get this to work? I am trying to run 4 6131 receivers off this dish. I can simply run them all through a 2x4 switch but they all have to be on the same satellite (91 or 82) in order for it to work. I am trying to have it so that all receivers have the ability to switch from HD channels to SD channels without worrying about the other receivers being interrupted.

@wallyb , hate to ask but it is a DPP44 isn't it and not an SW44?

|17671||So my question is this. Why even bother with the DPP QUAD LNB which hss 4 outputs if you do not want to run 4 lines ou from it? Seems like a waist. If u only wanted 2 lines from the lnb u should have had a dpp twin installed, no? Idunno thats just me but i would prefer to use the full features of the quad and avoid extra swiches and power inserters and all that cus im not too familiar with troubleshooting them and i prefer a more simplified setup.|

DPP44 Hookup (correct) but not picking up 82. just 91
I've been struggling for a few days and need help.
I'm very new to this but after reading all the instruction, this thread, I thought I understood things. I DON'T. Baffled.
Bell Installed my original setup. QUAD LNB. Two cables going into house.
1) One 9400 PVR (Dual Input Receiver) Running directly via one Cable (thru a splitter) into each Receiver INPUTS. **WORKS PERFECT** (I get 91 and 82 SATS)
2) One 6400 HD (Single Input Receiver) Running directly via one Cable ** WORKS PERFECT ** (I get 91 and 82 SATS)
My Goal is to add my 2nd 6400 (HD Receiver and a 3100 SD (Receiver) ) which are active, and I can use either on the inputs above.
So I got a DPP44 switch thinking I could hook up all 4 receivers without running 2 more cables from the QUAD LNB outside. (I could run the cable but tough to get to since I have a Grape Vine Trellis blocking my access)
I have hooked up this as per instructions. (but can't even make 1 receiver work) picking up SAT 82. Sat 91 picks up.
The DPP44 is picked up by the receiver after Doing CHECK SWITCH. (Switch Port 1 SAT 91) (Switch Port 2 CON/XX)
Wiring is as BELOW:
-> 2 Cables to DPP44 INPUT 1/2 (from QUAD LNB)
-> Power Inserter on PORT 1 (PORT of DPP44)
-> Either Receiver on PORT 2 (PORT of DPP44)......I did attempt ALL 4 Receivers (using port1,2,3,4) Same thing.
I did multiple check switches. Even tried the Reset by disconnecting Receiver cables and Check Switch 1-38/Save.
I still cannot get SAT82 to show up. (It works....1,2,3, or 4 receivers, but without 82 I don't get all the Channels)
If I go back to Direct One cable per receiver (SAT LNB->Receiver) both 82/91 Pick up (PICKS up Single QUAD on 6400, or Both QUAD LNB on 9400 Splitter hookup)
BEFORE I CLIMB up on Ladder, and run two more Cables to get 4 receivers working on 1 cable per receiver (can someone help me)
Would rather got with DPP44 setup (vs) 4 direct cables.

|Geo H||Can you cascade the dpp44 to sw44r for 8 outs?|

Thanks for the replies, guys. Crisis averted. Seems the short piece of coax running from port one on the switch to the power was fubar. Switched out the coax and all is well on all six receivers.

|Allan B||Is it the correct Power Inserter? The ones for the SW44 are not the same.|
